The importance of art in one's life.

I came across this today and just loved it. So insanely true, right??

Amen to that.

From the 2003 Fall issue of Nylon. Couldn't possibly get me any more excited for this season.

My Inspiration Board as of 5/13/2010

One of the ways I express my creative energy and get inspired is by creating an inspiration board. It's really just a slab of cardboard that I hung up in my room and pin pictures/quotes/etc to, but I have a fabulous time doing it! I switch it up whenever I get bored with the stuff I have on it, and I always try to reflect my current mood/ feelings/ inspiration/ dreams and likes through it. I thought that I would share my current board with you so that you can take inspiration from it; or maybe even get inspired to create one of your own. :)

My vision/ inspiration board. :)

-And now for a closer look at some of the above-

This is a page I tore out of the latest Elle magazine. I'm crazy about florals for spring so I am in love with it!

Love this quote from Lady Gaga's Cosmo interview.

I pretty much die everytime I see a look from Marc by Marc Jacob's spring 2010 collection (http://dressingupindaisies.onsugar.com/Marc-Marc-Jacobs-Spring-2010RTW-H... )

I loveee this quote! (And I completed it with some feathers protruding in from the side...:) )

In the top right corner there are some models with fabulous hair with Marc Jacobs at the Louis Vuitton show, and the wording to the left is a poem I wrote.

This is a scrap of fabulous fabric I picked up at the fabric store, Mood, that they always shop at on Project Runway. Behind the fabric (I'm sure you can recognize) is a Marc Jacob's ad.

xoxo,

Audrey

Christian Louboutin Quote

"I did not really choose the red sole. Its more like the red sole came to me and had to stay with me. It started as a happy accident, which I kept. I was very inspired by pop art so all my drawings were really full of colors. So the first prototype arrives. Its very similar to my designs so I was very happy. But something was missing. Thank God I had this girl with me who was painting her nails. Grabbed her nailpolish - thank you to Chanel for that! I grabbed the nailpolish and I painted the sole."

Curiosity Quote

About me

I started Dressing Up In Daisies about two years ago for the purpose of unloading all my thoughts, ideas, and obsessions on to internet, rather than keeping them all bottled up in my head. In my first post on DUID ever, my (at the time) thirteen year old self said, “Fashion is about taking risks, and dressing up for yourself, and no one else. Ever since I was two years old, my favorite game to play has been dress up...and it still is. The amazing thing about this game is that you get to play it every single morning, so why not have some fun with it? Wear some massive heels, opt for the leopard coat, throw some daisies in your hair. Whatever your mood is that day.” Ever since I can remember I’ve been fascinated by and obsessed with the world of fashion and all things artistic. I’m not really at all like most kids my age. I spend my days blogging, painting, sketching, taking pictures with old film cameras, and dreaming about my future as a fashion icon strutting around New York City.

Here’s a little bit about me(my description on tumblr): Audrey. 15 years old. Pisces. From San Diegoo. Hippie at heart. Wasting half my time blogging, and the other half at school. Aspiring fashion designer. Full time freak. Soon to be starving artist. ♥ I love: 500 days of summer, fashion, new york city, red nails, good vibes, andy warhol, incense, chanel, men's sweaters, hippies, painting, fur coats, marc jacobs daisy perfume, urban outfitters, the 70's, ziggy stardust, people who dance to the beat of their own drum, rock n' roll music, my canon rebel and my diana f+, steven tyler's sexy ass, the summer of 1969, sublime, my two best friends, woodstock documentaries, lady gaga, saturday mornings, black and white pictures, cold winter days, bike rides in the summertime, combat boots, and tumblr ♥ Dreams: ride a unicorn, go to Parsons for college, create the biggest fashion house in the world, ride a segway, see the aurora borealis, float through space listening to david bowie records, always remain true to myself, live in a shitty apartment and eat top ramen in New York with my best friend Lillian when we turn 18, and not fail my next history test...

I use my blog to connect me to the world of fashion that I know I’ll be a part of one day. And the best part about this is that you guys can be a part of my journey as I chase my dreams of becoming a part of this industry that I feel so passionately about. Feel free to give me feedback in the comment section, hit me up on tumblr, or inbox me because I love hearing from you guys!! xoxo, Audrey
